“Downtown LA streetview comparison ”
Street View is a series of 28 Google street view images of downtown Los Angeles and a reproduction of this series by Antal Ruhl. By displaying the two series simultaneously the factor time is added to the series. Differences, similarities, development and decay become obvious. Our reality becomes more and more influenced by Google; satellite images, maps and locations, search queries and street views all become our truth, often without realizing that all is generated by one company. The comparison of the photo series is an example of recalibration of our truth and shows how many differences and simulaties this reveals.
